Friday ‘Household Chore’ Café
Don’t miss this week’s ‘Household Chore‘ Café!
Dear friends and patrons,
Alas! There come a time in a person’s life where he/she has got to wash the dishes. Or rake the lawn. Or do any of a million other chores that seem to take such big, unwelcome bite out of our lives.
For example, right after I post this, I must vacuum the house. Back and forth, back and forth, methodically jockeying the machine behind furniture, under beds and over carpets, through the rooms—it’s a noisy, boring and dreary, task. And no sooner is the job done, when new dust begins to reappear. Or is it old dust that successively evaded my onslaught? (Ah, one of life’s perplexing questions.)
I’m sure that you have a household chore that you’d rather not do. It’s OK to complain about it here. And while I have your attention, what’s a household chore that you actually enjoy?
I like shoveling snow off the sidewalk and walkways around my house. Many people don’t, but I enjoy seeing the progress I’m making, and the neat results afterward. Also, it gets yours truly outdoors during cold, snowy winter days—and afterwards basking in the after-glow of vigorous activity with a cup of hot tea. Cheers everyone!
