CHS GR Event | Yiorgis Yiatromanolakis, “Pausanias the traveler visits Epidaurus”

The lecture, in Ligourio, will be based on varied information about Epidaurus (topographic, historical, mythological, etc.) provided by the famous traveler of the 2nd century CE, Pausanias. In his ‘Corinthiaca’ (Description of Greece, Book II) the geographer records the site of Epidaurus, and offers historical and mythological details in particular about the sacred grove of Asclepius, where the renowned theater is located. Nafplio, Argos and Mycenea: Travel-study, Leg 1

I had the opportunity to travel to Greece with Harvard Alumni Association's travel-study program which was led by Gregory Nagy. I came back with great memories.
